Academic Search Premier - This multi-disciplinary database provides full text for more than 4,600 journals, including full text for nearly 3,900 peer-reviewed titles. PDF backfiles to 1975 or further are available for well over one hundred journals, and searchable cited references are provided for more than 1,000 titles.
MasterFILE Premier - Designed specifically for public libraries, this multidisciplinary database provides full text for nearly 1,700 periodicals with full-text information dating as far back as 1975. Covering virtually every subject area of general interest, MasterFILE Premier also contains full text for nearly 500 reference books and over 164,400 primary source documents, as well as an Image Collection of over 592,000 photos, maps & flags. This database is updated daily via EBSCOhost.
Middle Search Plus - Middle Search Plus provides full text for more than 140 popular, middle school magazines. All text articles included in the dtabase are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles). Full text is also available for thousands of biogrpahies and historical essays. Middle Search Plus also contains 84,774 biographies, 105,786 primary source documents, and a School Image Collection of photos, maps and flags.
Primary Search - Primary Search provides full text for more than 70 popular, magazines for elementary school research. All full text articles included in the database are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles), and full text information dates as far back as 1990.
Canadian Reference Centre - Canadian Reference Centre combines Canadian magazines, newspapers, newswires and reference books to create the largest collection of regional full text content available to Canadian libraries. This database includes leading Canadian periodicals and international (U.S. and U.K.) periodicals in full text; full text reference books; over 87,900 full text biographies and an Image Collection of over 502,000 photos, maps, and flags. This database is updated on a daily basis.
Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia - This database provides over 25, 000 encyclopedic entries covering a variety of subject areas.
Home Improvement Reference Center - Home Improvement Reference Center is a full text database designed for use in public and school libraries. Content contained in the database will focus on home improvement and home repair.
Small Engine Repair Reference Center - Small Engine Repair Reference Center is a full text database designed for use in public and school libraries. Content contained in the database will be derived from the full set of small engine repair manuals from Clymer (http://clymer.com/). Clymer repair manuals provide step-by-step procedures based upon the complete disassembly of the machine. This hands-on experience combined with extensive research results in a manual that is both detailed and user-friendly.
Read Up On It Kit
The National Library of Canada publishes both a print and an electronic version of its Read Up On It Kit. The kit promotes Canadian literature and reading and covers notable books for children of all ages. Bilingual.
Get Caught Reading
Is a nationwide campaign to remind people of all ages how much fun it is to read. May is Get Caught Reading month, but the campaign is promoted throughout the year. Get caught Reading is supported by the Associatio of American Publisher (AAP). Launched in 1999, "Get Caught Reading" is the brainchild of former Congressworman Pat Schroeder, President and Chief Executive Officer of AAP.
